Day 6

I knew that the sculpture would need a lot of clay so I ordered 20 bags of it. I love working with clay but it is amazing how heavy a bag of it is!

Day 7

By the end of the 7th day the figure had a head and feet was starting to look more like a human being.

Day 8

After I had put more clay on to the arms, I realised that the legs needed to go further back to make the figure more dynamic. To do this I needed to get Matt to cut the metal frame and reposition it.

I was much happier with the figure after this adjustment had been made.

Day 9

I started to work on specific parts of the figure. You can see that the face and the feet, although not finished, now had more definition.

Day 10

By the end of the 10th day the sculpture was starting to look more realistic. The ribcage and pelvis could be clearly seen.

I was very tired at the end of the day. Working with clay is physically demanding and I had put a lot of clay on the figure during the week.
