The ideas for this piece of sculpture and the other two in the ‘Spark’ series came from seeing pictures of sparks of light. Nicola experimented with the idea of having the human form as part of the light. The patination colour on the bronze suggests the heat and light that sparks of fire create. Nicola loves the idea of the figure bursting forward in a flash of energy.
