The ideas for this piece of sculpture and the other two in the ‘Spark’ series came from seeing pictures of sparks of light. I experimented with the idea of having the human form as part of the light. The patination colour on the bronze suggests the heat and light that sparks of fire create. I love the idea of the figure bursting forward in a flash of energy.
